What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Olympics Kansas Director of Partnership Development position at Special Olympics Kansas?
The Director of Partnership Development position will lead the organization's efforts to increase philanthropic support from new, prospective corporate partners and their respective employees. These efforts can include, but are not limited to Special Olympics Kansas Games Sponsorships, the Kansas Law Enforcement Torch Run, special events, etc. The Director of Partnership Development creates and oversees the implementation of a strategic approach to corporate sponsorship of the organization and its programs. The position will also assist as a secondary role with grant solicitation, special event oversight and procuring in-kind gifts. This position will cultivate and steward new corporate sponsors and be responsible for the growth of fundraisers through corporate support. Supervisory responsibilities include setting and evaluating goals, managing diverse volunteers, working within expenses, and achieving revenue goals set by staff and Board of Directors.
The position requires a highly motivated, dynamic, results-oriented person. The individual needs to be a person of high integrity, well organized, a self-starter able to work in a team environment, and mature and flexible enough to work in a growing and changing environment. This position requires extensive travel in Kansas throughout the week, with overnights required.
The Director of Partnership Development reports to the Senior Director of Development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development to meet annual budget goals, department goals, and strategic plan requirements;
- Accept a wide range of tasks and assignments to meet development needs / objectives;
- Develop, manage, and solicit from a new portfolio of corporate community relationships;
- Assists in the workplace and federated giving campaigns statewide led by the Director of Strategic Partnerships;
- Support the fundraising and development efforts for Special Olympics Kansas (SOKS) and the Law Enforcement Torch Run by securing sponsorship revenue and growing community support;
- Maintain adequate records of contributions, donations, volunteers, event participants, and partnership records;
- Promote awareness of SOKS through networking events;
- Coordinate with the Communications Department on marketing strategies for sponsor recognition, appropriate benefits, and creation of sponsorship decks;
- Develop a network of businesses and individuals to call upon for resources : in-kind, services, products, cash, etc.;
- Assist and occasionally manage special events, as assigned by supervisor;
- Ensure planning and execution of development activities stay within budget guidelines and fundraising best practices.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Due to the numerous responsibilities of the Director of Partnership Development, traveling time, and other requirements of the position, the 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. concept of work time-frame is impossible to consider. This position, as well as other administrative staff of Special Olympics Kansas, must operate with a time-frame concept of "whatever time it takes to ensure quality results".
