Private Investigator (Part-Time Contractor Role)
Special Operations | Finding Kids is seeking Private Investigators to aid our organization in its efforts to locate and recover missing and exploited children in the Fresno and Modesto, California areas. We assist numerous families every year and know that without the work of our Private Investigators much of what we do would not be possible. As we continue to expand, and more and more families turn to Special Operations | Finding Kids for help, our need for experienced, professional, and compassionate Private Investigators continues to grow as well. Our Private Investigators will work collaboratively with our Director of Investigations to communicate with families of missing children both in person and over the phone, establish an understanding of each child’s unique background and needs, and utilize resources and past experience to locate and recover missing children.
The core duties and activities of a Private Investigator include but are not limited to :
- Communicate with Director of Investigations to understand and establish missing persons cases
- Communicate with families in person and over the phone, collecting any information relative to the investigation
- Communicate and collaborate with law enforcement
- Conduct and review surveillance as needed
- Perform social media research
- Provide thorough case notes while case is active and case summaries upon case completion

Who is Special Operations? Special Operations is a 501(c)(3) non-profit established to find children who are at risk of being trafficked or sexually exploited for commercial purposes. The organization hires boots-on-the-ground private investigators to find and help youth in crisis.
