What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Special Products & Manu?
We are looking for a self-motivated Material Handler to join our SPM Family! If you are a hardworking individual who can complete tasks successfully with little to no supervision, then we are looking for you.
Responsibilities:
- Loads, unloads, and moves materials within plant facility.
- Manage material by identifying and recording the location of material.
- Opens containers, using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Operate various machinery to include forklifts and pallet jacks to handle materials.
- Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
- Perform regular inventory counts and report discrepancies.
- Moves materials within plant facility using forklift and other device.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and delivers load within department locations.
- Collaborate with warehouse team and other departments to ensure timely material
- Ensure you follow all SPM safety procedures associated with operating machinery, plant requirements and other safety regulations.
- Attend all required training.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse or material handling experience is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklift
- Basic computer skills for inventory management.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Availability to work overtime including Saturdays.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
