Summary

Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Access and Triage, the Regional Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating regional access for participants and collaborative partners to services through the Coordinated Entry System. The CES Regional Coordinator provides systems leadership and fosters community education and resources development.   Additionally, he/she will be responsible for establishing key partnerships to enhance the system, identifying gaps in service delivery, and crafting the messaging.


Essential Functions

●    Must know, understand, and be able to apply the HUD definition of homelessness and chronically homelessness
●    In depth understanding of the SPA 6 Coordinated Entry System and service components for singles and families.
●    Possess and intimate knowledge of SPA 6 CES and be able to articulate this information to community stakeholders
●   Knowledge of City and County Homeless Initiatives
●   Coordinate and facilitate community provider training, orientations, onboarding of new SPA 6
CES certified organizations and ongoing education related to SPA 6 CES activities and policies
●    Work collaboratively with the CES system of care to understand where the systems intersect.
●    Collaborate with the FSC and AC Program Managers and Supervisors (AC, FRT/Diversion; Crisis Housing; RRH/Prevention; Housing Location) matching and sub-regional hub sites to understand how the system is currently functioning and plan around moving it forward
●    Represent the SPA 6 in key meetings with elected officials, funders, and collaborative partners (inclusive of giving presentations)
●   Work closely with the regional CES Access Points, Outreach Coordinators, Outreach Teams
●    Assist with the development and maintenance of the SPA 6 Workshops and/or training support
●    Organizing key facilitators for the Workshops and assisting with facilitating workshops when needed
●    Outreach to develop sustaining relationships with organizations and community stakeholders who impact the experience of homeless participants
●   Partnership management of SPA 6 CES for family’s collaborative partners and affiliates
●   Liaison between lead agency and SPA 6 CES provider community
●   Communicate regularly with LAHSA regional CES staff
●    Leadership role in the coordination of SPA wide community events (i.e.. Homeless Connect Day, Homeless Count, Home Walk, Trunk or Treat)
●   Knowing, understanding, and articulating system level data
●   Working with leadership on grant writing
●   Assist with regional systems planning, expansion, development, and evaluation
●   Participate in and maintain minutes for the SPA 6 CES Community Meetings
●   Understand and some help to implement evidence-based practices in the SPA 6 Homeless System of
Care
●   Help to increase and coordinate resources in within SPA 6 CES for Families
●   Work collaborative with County Wide Regional Coordinators to understand the Los Angeles
Continuums landscape
●   Maintain appropriate boundaries; and adhere to SSG’s Code of Ethics and HOPICS’ Core Values.
●   Represent the Agency in a professional manner at meetings and community events.
●   Must be able to facilitate regional meetings
●   Administer the VI-SPDAT and conduct client intakes as needed to support staff
●   Overtime, holiday, or weekend work may be required.
●    Maintain files/records on client services in compliance with HIPAA & CFR42 and other funding requirements for auditing purposes.
●   Regular attendance required.
●   Some nights and weekends required.
●   Other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

●   BA/BS Degree or (3) year’s job-related experience working with the homeless population
●    Experience with domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking programs and the Los Angeles Coordinated Entry System and homeless services, including but not limited to knowledge of best practices and relevant statutes and regulations.
●   Knowledge of case management and case conferencing.
●   Strong facilitation and mediation skills.
●   If in recovery, a minimum of three (3) years of being drug and alcohol free is MANDATORY.
●   Ability to work with clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
●   Basic computer word processing skills necessary.
●   Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
●   Verification of Employment Eligibility and Background Clearance.
●    TB test required (Not more than (3) month prior to or (7) days after Date of Hire, and renewed annually thereafter)
●   CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of employment with company.
●   Must have valid California Identification.
●    Fully COVID-19 vaccinated (2 weeks from last vaccination dose to be considered fully vaccinated)
●   Maintain and uphold Agency mission statement, values, policies, procedures, and principles


Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions)
  • Work conducted in an office and remote hybrid setting.

Physical Requirements
  • The Regional Coordinator typically spends time sitting, standing, typing, thinking, writing, walking, carrying (max. 25 lbs.), listening, speaking. Driving required as needed.

Mental Requirements
  • This position will require the individual to be able to handle any/all the following: constant distractions, interruptions, uncontrollable changes in priorities/work schedules, be able to process information, think and conceptualize.
