What are the responsibilities and job description for the 25-26 School Psychologist/Diagnostician position at Special Services Department?
NOTE: This position is for the 2025-2026 school year. The salary will be based on the 2025-2026 salary schedule which is not yet approved by the Board of Education. The salary listed is based on the current year's salary schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certificate in School Psychology from the State of Missouri.
- Education Specialist degree in School Psychology.
OR
- Certification in School Psychological Examiner from the State of Missouri.
- Master’s in Education in Special Education or Masters in Education in related field.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Special Services
JOB GOAL:
To assess children for possible eligibility under IDEA and collaborate with staff for best educational delivery.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess students for possible eligibility under IDEA.
- Coordinate assessment plans with building SPED coordinators.
- Attend and facilitate SPED staffings and IEP meetings in conjunction with building SPED coordinator.
- Keep abreast of best psychological and academic practices.
- Work with all staff in developing best practices for student services-including, but not limited to, in-services to staff on instructional strategies, Behavior Intervention Plan, Functional Behavior Assessment, Positive Behavior Support Plan, etc.
- Assist with SST teams as needed to develop best practices for student services.
- Perform others duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services and/or Building Principal.
Salary : $40,853 - $70,756
