Job Description: To administer assessments and interpret results in written report; interpret evaluation results at IEP/MET team meetings to determine special education eligibility and appropriate services.
Ability to and skilled in:
• Conduct meetings and provide pertinent information to meeting
participants.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Lead and/or provide professional consultations to teachers and parents.
• Interact well with staff, students, and families.
• Following ethical guidelines of licensing/certification entity and professional membership associations (as relevant) when performing thesejob duties.
• Provide counseling services as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/Or Competencies Required To Successfully Perform The Work:
Knowledge of:
• Arizona State Statutes as it pertains special education.
• Evaluation procedures and eligibility determination.
• Tests and measures as used in identifying disabilities.
• Current trends in school psychology, research methods, testing and
evaluation techniques, familiarity with commonly used diagnostic tests.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required For Entry Into Position:
• Masters degree or Ph.D. degree (preferred) in school psychology -
Required.
• Certified by the Arizona Department of Education as a School Psychologist, or Licensed by the Arizona Board of Psychological Examiners as a Psychologist - Required.
• Experience conducting psycho-educational evaluations and interpreting test results.
• Pass a background clearance and fingerprint check
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student, staff and District information
• A valid Arizona Driver’s License must be maintained
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ First Aid required
