The Moses Lake School District is seeking applications for a full time Speech-Language Pathologist for the 24-25 School year. Submit online application with all required documentation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Washington State E.S.A. Speech-Language Pathologist certification.
  2. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency or Clinical Fellowship Year
  3. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required to submit driving abstract.
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.

DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES

  1. Assessment Proficiency: Skilled in conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments.

  2. Intervention Planning: Capable of developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of students, including those with speech, language, voice, fluency, and pragmatic language disorders.

  3. Collaboration with Educators: Proven ability to work collaboratively with teachers, special educators, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the broader educational framework.

  4. Family Engagement: Demonstrated expertise in working with families to provide education, support, and strategies for reinforcing speech and language skills at home.

  5. Data-Driven Practices: Experienced in utilizing data to monitor progress, adjust interventions, and document outcomes in compliance with school and district policies.

  6. IEP Development and Compliance: Proficient in developing and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring that all goals are measurable, attainable, and in line with state and federal regulations.

  7. Cultural Sensitivity: Able to effectively work with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, applying culturally responsive practices in assessment and treatment.

  8. Technology Integration: Familiar with current technology and software used in speech-language pathology, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, to support student communication.

  9. Professional Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, necessary for conducting assessments, writing reports, and effectively communicating with students, parents, and school personnel.

  10. Ethical and Professional Conduct: Committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional behavior in all interactions within the school setting.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of speech and language programs.
  2. Provides thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech and language difficulties.
  3. Assists in appropriate referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community.
  4. Provides individualized programs of therapy to meet students’ needs and correct existing speech or language difficulties.
  5. Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy  for the student’s daily activities.
  6. Provides information and support to parents and families when appropriate.
  7. Willingness to work a modified school-year calendar
  8. Participates as an active member of multidisciplinary teams. 
  9. Must have excellent attendance.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
