Route Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Route Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage routes effectively.

Duties

• Operate delivery vehicles, including vans and trucks, while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
• Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, including pallet jacks.
• Navigate assigned routes efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries to customers.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Handle heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in commercial driving or route driving preferred.
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
• Ability to lift heavy items consistently throughout the day.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver or in moving services is advantageous.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with local roads and traffic patterns is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
