Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) - Temporary
Want to join our incredible therapy team? We have a rare opening for a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) as contingent status, at our neuro rehabilitation center in Romulus, Michigan.

The Role:
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, assists with appropriate therapeutic intervention under the direction of a licensed/ registered Occupational Therapist to maximize the client’s cognitive, sensory, physical functioning, and level of independence.

- Monday-Friday
- 9:00 am- 5:00 pm
- Pay rate: starts at $30.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Provides fabulous every day care, every day to clients and other customers.
- Implements portions of a client’s Occupational Therapy program as established by the licensed/registered Occupational Therapist.
- Assists the Occupational Therapist directly in administering tests and assessment procedures.
- Observes and documents the client’s responses to treatment.
- Provides client, family, and staff education and training as needed and documents appropriately.
- Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, staff, and business operations, and adheres to all HIPAA standards.
- Behaves in accordance with the Mission and Values of Special Tree.
- Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner.
- Respects and appropriately considers age, gender, cultural background, and related factors when providing services to all internal and external customers.
- Demonstrates ability to work appropriately with clients who may exhibit aggressive or difficult behaviors following STRS Behavior Management policy and training.
Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree in Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is required.
- Certification as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy is required along with licensure in the State of Michigan.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrates good moral character.
- Prefer 1 year experience with variety of clients.
