We are looking for a full-time experienced Cook. Join our creative team led by an innovate manager and an experienced team lead and supported by a Registered Dietician. Put your unique experience to work to prepare nutritious meals for clients and co-workers.
The Company:
Special Tree's state-of-the-art NeuroCare Campus is located on four-wooded acres in a quiet suburban community in Romulus, MI and was designed specifically to meet the needs of those with brain injury and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. With the most advanced technology and amenities available, we serve clients with active, long term, and transitional needs through our subacute care unit, full service therapy clinic, and a neuro residential program.
General Summary:
Prepares and/or assists with the preparation of meals for groups of clients using various recipes and methods of preparation in accordance with established procedures and in compliance with the Michigan Department of Community and Health Services. Select your Shift preference!
- Morning Shift: 5:30 am - 1:30 pm
- Afternoon Shift: 11:30 am - 7:30 pm
Qualifications:
- Experience in cooking for a large volume is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation skills.
- Strong ability to follow directions.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 100% of work time.
- Ability to lift, move and carry objects repeatedly over 20 lbs, and less frequently over 50 lbs.
- Make continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements, such as slicing or chopping food.
- Bend or stoop repeatedly over time, such as removing items from stove, oven or refrigerator.
- Work cooperatively with other Special Tree employees, clients and families.
