Employment Terms:

  • This is a summer internship role (Duration: 10 weeks)
  • This is a hybrid role requiring in-person work three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri (9:00am-5:00pm)
  • Internship Start Date: June 2, 2025
  • Internship End Date: August 8, 2025
  • Estimated pay rate: $20 per hour for undergraduate interns, $25 per hour for graduate interns
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
  • Access to a private workspace with reliable internet connection is required

Essential Tasks - In this job, you will:

  • Participate in internal and external meetings between Healthfirst, external agencies, NY State partners, and essential providers
  • Receive and respond to requests for information regarding provider and member-specific information
  • Generate ad hoc and repeat reporting to support the Behavioral Health department
  • Performs other duties as assigned and required

  • The ability to keep to schedules and deadlines
  • Comfortability with written communication, such as email and instant messaging using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams
  • The ability to express when help or additional guidance is needed
  • A desire to learn Healthfirst care management platforms (training will be provided)

Digital/Technical Skills - In this job you will demonstrate:

  • Intermediate data management skills to be able to maneuver Microsoft Office applications, such as the following:
    • Transferring information and creating charts/graphs using Excel
    • Scheduling meetings and sending emails using Outlook
    • Creating documents and formatting text using Word

Education/Knowledge: 

  • Undergraduate Students: Must be a junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree at an accredited institution or have completed a Bachelor's degree within the past 12 months. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
  • Graduate Students: Must be currently enrolled in a Master's program at an accredited institution or have completed a Master's degree within the past 12 months. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

  • The employer will confirm selection decisions and extend offers before beginning the onboarding process.
