Job Summary: Specialists in Dermatology is seeking a Full-Time Lab Histology Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with Histology procedures, primarily focusing on the grossing of tissue. This position requires standing for long periods of time and flexibility to be cross-trained.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure proper accessioning and labeling of all tissue samples
- Performs grossing and tissue processing under no direct supervision
- Performs routine histotechniques such as embedding tissue, microtomy, H&E staining, and manually coverslipping
- Maintains complete and accurate records
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area
- Assist with other tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements: (one of the following)
- Associates Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology
- At least 60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that , at a minimum include: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or 24 semester hours of science courses that include six semesters hours of chemistry; six semester hours of biology; and twelve semester hours of: chemistry, biology, or medial laboratory technology in any combination.
- Preferred:
- ASCP professional certification or equivalent Nationally-recognized Histology Technologist certification or categorical certification in histopathology
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the past 5 years
