Specialists in Pain Management is a multi-location and multi-provider medical office that specializes in all facets of pain management and procedures to reduce patient’s chronic pain and opioid dependency.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Team player with the ability to speak with insurance carriers, case managers and others to ensure benefit coverage through pre-authorization approval processes. Authorization Specialist must have medical terminology knowledge, exceptional customer service skills, an outgoing personality, positive attitude and able to work in a busy medical practice.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
· Processes orders and obtains coverage authorizations from insurance carriers
· Adding specific diagnosis codes to procedure codes
· Communicates medical necessity for procedure coverage
· Communicates coverage limitations to facilities, providers and patients
· Must have working knowledge of Insurance plans and obtaining authorizations
· Help to rectify denials or post procedure coding/billing issues
MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer incoming phone calls
Communication with patients, providers and surgery centers/hospitals
Job Type: Full-time
