Specialists in Pediatric Neurology PLLC (SPN) is a premier practice in southeast Michigan specializing in Pediatric Neurology and Epilepsy care. The practice will utilize the same highly regarded, innovative, patient and family-oriented care model Dr. Arndt created during his 12 year tenure at Beaumont Childrens as chief of pediatric neurology & director of the NAEC level IV comprehensive pediatric epilepsy program. The multidisciplinary care team approach helped foster the development of Beaumont Children’s first nationally recognized pediatric specialties (Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Epilepsy) by 2014, servicing quaternary level care and multiple national distinctions, without losing the personalized approach for primary pediatric neurology evaluations. Patients and families will significantly benefit from new, innovative in-office and in-home diagnostics and care models that can be offered in a private practice office setting.
The care team will deliver best practice evaluations and treatments, leveraging training from top training programs for pediatric neurology and epilepsy, nationally recognized work experience, and national connections when appropriate for more complex cases.
The practice will provide care for pediatric patients of all ages, from birth through young adulthood. Evaluations will include new-onset neurologic concerns, transfer of care for chronic or established neurological conditions, as well as 2
opinions for the most challenging neurologic or epilepsy cases seeking answers and best practice evaluations / treatments / direction. Role Description :
Compassionate and skilled, outpatient Pediatric Dietitian.
Dietitian will work closely with pediatric neurologists, nurse practitioners, neuropsychologists, epileptologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Dietitian will provide specialized care to general dietary and pediatric neurology patients, including but not limited to :
Seizures / Epilepsy
Medically refractory epilepsy, including neuromodulation and presurgical evaluation
Headaches / Migraine
Developmental Delays / Neurodevelopmental Conditions
Neurogenetic conditions / Genetic Epilepsies
Weakness / Neuromuscular conditions
Sleep disorders
Neurobehavioral disorders / ADHD
Cerebral Palsy
Neonatal / Infant Neurology
Neuropsychology
Dietary therapies
Key Roles :
Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis : Conduct detailed assessments of pediatric dietary conditions, including H&Ps, exams as indicated, interpreting / relaying diagnostic relevant test results, develop / document differential diagnosis based on clinical findings & test results, relay impressions and careplans.
Treatment & Management : Collaborate with neurologists to develop, implement, and monitor individualized dietary plans based on medical diagnoses, lifestyle recommendations, anticipatory guidance / education on disease management & preventative care. Monitor patients’ progress, adjusting plans as necessary based on their response to interventions.
Patient & Family Education : Educate patients & families on dietary conditions, treatment plans, & coping strategies. Offer resources & support for families managing complex dietary conditions, addressing their questions & concerns.
Collaboration & Teamwork : Partner with a multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, neurologists, nurse practitioners, neuropsychologists, nurses, & other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care. Participate in team meetings, case reviews, quality improvement projects, & ongoing education opportunities to ensure the highest standard of care.
Documentation & Compliance : Maintain accurate & detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines & regulations. Adhere to practice standards on timely note signing, ccing notes to referring providers, & chart closure. Adhere to institutional & practice protocols, procedures, & ethical standards in all interactions & treatment approaches. Stay current with advancements in the field and integrate new findings into practice.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics; Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential is required; pediatric neurology or pediatric epilepsy experience preferred.
Licensure / Certification : Licensure as in the state of practice as indicated; board certification as indicated.
Experience : Experience in dietary evaluations in children and adolescents. Experience with epilepsy in addition to neurology is preferred. Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems required.
Skills : Strong diagnostic & clinical skills with knowledge of pediatric dietary conditions. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills to provide family-centered care required. Ability to work effectively within a team & collaborate with other healthcare providers, or independently when required, is required. Ability to handle a fast-paced clinical environment and prioritize patient care is preferred.

Compensation : Hourly rate commensurate with training, experience, & projected role & full / part-time status. 2 part-time dietitians collaborating to perform one full-time position considered. Potential annual group productivity incentive.
