We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic team player to join us as a Front Office Assistant in our physical therapy clinic. The primary responsibility of the Front Office Assistant is to provide an exceptional patient experience. You will often be the first point of contact for patients and insurance companies and to succeed in this role you need a pleasant personality, as it is also a customer service position. Specific duties include scheduling patients, managing incoming calls and referrals, verifying insurance, scanning/organizing documents, and supporting our Front Office Coordinator and our Physical Therapists. The ideal candidate will be upbeat and welcoming, organized, detail oriented, and demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting. This position is essential for maintaining an efficient clinic atmosphere while delivering outstanding service to our patients. - Greet and welcome patients as soon as they arrive at the office
- Answer incoming phone calls and make phone calls to patients and insurance companies
- Verify patient insurance benefits online and over the phone
- Collect and accurately record patient and insurance payments
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, maintaining up-to-date records.
- Schedule patient appointments (Electronic Medical Records experience is a plus)
- Receive and sort daily email/faxes
- Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning and faxing
- Communicate professionally with other office staff both in written and oral communication
- Assist in light cleaning of the clinic and equipment
- Keep inventory of materials and supplies
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is required.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in completing tasks you see needing attention as well as work collaboratively within a team environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
