Civil Engineer

This position is instrumental in addressing critical infrastructure improvements in the coming years, contributing to the design, construction, and maintenance of essential public works projects.

The Civil Engineer II is responsible for Civil 3D setup and design for road reconstruction and rehabilitation projects, construction administration for various roadway and utility projects, and leading the pavement management program for over 150 miles of roadways. Key Responsibilities

·      Lead and supervise a team within the Engineering Division.

·      Oversee Civil 3D setup and design for roadway reconstruction and rehabilitation projects.

·      Administer construction projects for roadways, utilities, and related infrastructure.

·      Manage the pavement management program for an extensive roadway network.

·      Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors, and municipal officials to ensure project success.

·      Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff while maintaining compliance with regulations and best practices.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

·      Six to eight years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

·      An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

·      Must obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the State of Iowa within six months of hire.

·      Possession of a valid Iowa driver’s license.
