Major Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of operators, laborers, and contract employees.
- Ensure safe operations and compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain environmental compliance and quality standards.
- Schedule production to meet requirements, focusing on safety, compliance, quality, and efficiency.
- Manage materials, parts, and supplies for operations.
- Track employee timekeeping and job performance.
- Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and discipline of employees.
- Coordinate with other departments and staff in a team environment.
- Lead or assist with projects from design through implementation.
- Ensure regular maintenance and servicing of equipment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- 3 years of proven leadership and supervision experience in heavy industry or manufacturing.
- Familiarity with heavy and light mobile equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a good customer service attitude.
- Proficiency with email and business applications such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and any shift as needed.
- Ability to lift between 50 - 100 pounds and climb stairs and ladders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering or technical degree, or equivalent job experience.
- Safety training certification.
- Experience in the salt or mining industry.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance.
- Maintenance knowledge and hands-on expertise.
- Experience with CMMS, purchasing software, and computerized timekeeping software.
- Strong project coordination and planning skills.
Special Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Capable of providing hands-on assistance in all aspects of facility operations.
- Must be able to work productively in a group environment.
- Must be able to work additional hours as required.
- Must lift 50 to 100 pounds, wear PPE, and navigate various environments.
