Job Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime. The technician will work with a variety of systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, while adhering to safety and quality standards. Collaboration with production teams and accurate documentation of maintenance activities are essential to this role.
Preventive Maintenance
- Inspecting machinery and equipment to identify potential issues.
- Performing scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
- Lubricating, cleaning, and replacing worn components.
- Equipment Repairs
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Repairing or replacing defective parts in machinery.
- Calibrating and testing repaired equipment for proper functionality.
- Installation and Setup
- Installing new machinery and ensuring it functions correctly.
- Setting up equipment according to manufacturer specifications and production needs.
System Monitoring
- Monitoring equipment performance and efficiency during operation.
- Using diagnostic tools or software to analyze system performance.
- Electrical and Mechanical Work
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Working with electrical wiring, motors, circuits, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Handling mechanical components like gears, belts, and bearings.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhering to safety protocols and ensuring equipment is compliant with industry standards.
- Reporting potential hazards and suggesting improvements to safety measures.
- Documentation
- Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Updating maintenance logs and reporting issues to supervisors.
Collaboration
- Communicating with engineers, production teams, and other technicians to ensure smooth operations.
- Providing feedback to improve equipment performance or production processes.
Travel:
The maintenance technician will work primarily at the production facility
Preferred Education & Experience:
- 3 years of maintenance or equipment repair experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced industrial environment with limited supervision.
- Prior experience with PLC controllers, hydraulic and pneumatic presses, CNC and electrical up to 600V a plus
