What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Manager/Lead Staff position at Specialized Support Services, Inc.?
Specialized Support Services, Inc. is looking to expand its St. Joseph operation by hiring a House Manager/Lead Staff to manage a new Individualized Supported Living (ISL) environment in St. Joseph. The House Manager/Lead Staff will support the Director and Professional Managers in supervising the ISL and the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who provide primary supports for our consumers in implementing their Individual Plans and Activities of Daily Living. The House Manager/Lead Staff will support consumers and DSPs by supervising DSPs as appropriate and ensure that ISL runs efficiently by taking responsibility for meal planning, grocery shopping and paying consumer bills.
For this ISL, hours would be 7a-3p Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend availability will be required, along with on-call availability.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED (or the willingness to participate in an equivalency program offered through Missouri's Department of Mental Health Division of Developmental Disabilities); prior DSP experience; a good driving record, car insurance; the ability to pass a state-mandated background check; and the desire to make a positive difference in people's lives by providing domestic, social, health, safety and emotional support.
