Position Overview: The Fleet Maintenance Manager will lead the coordination between maintenance and operations, assisting in managing workload within the shop to meet company operational goals. This role is paramount to the success of STR Alaska as we continue to grow and add more equipment to the fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct, coordinate, and manage day-to-day maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain frequent, daily communication with dispatch on equipment status, upcoming required services, and estimated completion of ongoing repair work.
- Develop and evaluate service intervals to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the fleet.
- Oversee the scheduling of maintenance tasks and repairs to minimize downtime for all vehicles.
- Oversee record keeping of repairs, inspections, warranties, and service agreements.
- Maintain compliance and accurate record keeping of all CPWA functions.
- Manage and schedule equipment and facility services and repairs across multiple locations.
- Effectively allocate workload between three shops to maximize efficiency.
- Train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of technicians, providing valuable input for shop staff management.
- Investigate complaints and equipment malfunctions to identify and address issues promptly.
- Train and supervise maintenance employees in all aspects of work, including equipment operation and tool usage.
- Maintain a well-balanced inventory that meets the service department's requirements.
- Ensure proper accounting of all dealership purchases before making payments.
- Regularly review and improve departmental efficiency to optimize operations.
- Coordinate with the Equipment Director for tooling and shop equipment, as well as major equipment repairs.
- Ensure coverage for after-hours equipment breakdowns and provide technical guidance.
- Develop and maintain a culture of professionalism in addressing maintenance compliance.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- 5 Years of progressive responsibility within a shop setting
- Proven experience in fleet maintenance management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple locations and allocate resources efficiently.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and inventory management.
- Technical expertise in equipment operation and repair.
