Salary: $16/hr - $20/hr depending on experience. $16/hr - Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of experience; $18/hr - Bachelor’s Degree and 3-4 years of experience; $20/hr - Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience.
Work Schedule: Working up to 30 hours per week, no more than 120 hours per month, Monday-Friday between 8:00am-4:30pm. (includes a 30-minute meal break each day).
Position Description: This position is with the Specialized Treatment Facility, a Mississippi Department of Mental Health Program, which is located in Gulfport MS. The Contract Worker Public Relations position will perform the following duties:
· Responding to requests and inquiries for information from the media and the public
· Establishing, building and maintaining cooperative relationships with the community, employees, agencies, and the general public.
· Writing press releases and other media communications to promote STF. Perform news and/or publication writing, graphic and/or website design, photography, videography, and social media work.
· Speaking in public at various events, presentations, interviews and press conferences
· Researching, writing and distributing information in the public. Write internal employee communications including organizational updates, announcements, and event promotion.
· Designing or project managing the production of visual communications and digital content including, but not limited to STF newsletter. Seeking a prolific graphic designer and production person accountable for the preparation of design, layout, and art work of STF for use in press releases, media communications, web art, videography art, etc. This involves preparing drawings, illustrations, and type for covers, brochures, books, posters, forms, banners, slides, and reports; using techniques best suited to produce desired visual effects in conformance with printing methods specified; preparing maps of specified area; and operating photographic equipment to photograph illustrations, drawings, and printed materials.
· Being a part of the Friends and ERC Committees to actively seek donors and donations from the public and vendors for STF related activities promoted by Friends and ERC for staff and residents.

Must have at least one (1) year of experience listed above. Must be able to pass background checks, drug screen, TB testing procedures, provide a copy of education, and valid state issued driver license and proof of liability vehicle insurance. Contracts will be written from the start date through one year at the rate dependent on qualifications listed above.
