Specialty Building Products is currently looking for a Vice President of Technology to join our VALUES based organization. The VP of Technology will be responsible for shaping and executing our technology vision to support scalability, operational efficiency, and digital transformation aligned with our overall business strategy. This role requires a leader who understands the nuances of the distribution industry, a solid understanding of the technical landscape, has experience in a publicly traded company, and can drive compliance while creating a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute a technology roadmap that aligns IT capabilities with business objectives.
- Ensure technology investments drive competitive advantage, operational efficiency, and customer value.
- Lead IT, ERP, Technical Support, and Digital Transformation teams to ensure technology is a business enabler.
- Drive enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives, enhancing automation, analytics, and digital commerce capabilities.
- Ensure that ERP and enterprise systems are scalable, integrated, and optimized for efficiency.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to protect company assets, data, and operations.
- Oversee IT governance, ensuring compliance with SOX, data privacy regulations, and public company governance requirements.
- Establish and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Oversee vendor and partner relationships to maximize value and drive technology innovation.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing IT organization, developing and mentoring technology leaders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a VP or senior IT executive in a distribution, manufacturing, or wholesale industry.
- Experience leading technology functions in a publicly traded company, with a deep understanding of compliance, risk, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong technical expertise, including ERP systems, enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and data platforms.
- Track record of leading digital transformation, leveraging technology to drive business outcomes.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing IT budgets, cost optimization, and ROI analysis.
- Demonstrated success in cybersecurity strategy and risk management.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technology with business strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- This role will have 4 direct reports that are responsible for business services, ERP, IT functions, and technical support.
