Summery
Specialty Glass Products is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee operations while emphasizing safety, continuous improvement and company culture. Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.
Production
- Implement and oversee production plans, including scheduling, labor, and Material requirements
- Incorporate remakes and rush orders into the production schedule*Ensure volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are met.
- Monitor production processes and personnel to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently while meeting quality standards
- Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
- Coordinate and assign tasks to the production team
- Review workforce daily and coordinate with other departments to distribute labor resources
efficiently
- Train new employees and provide ongoing training for existing staff
- Conduct employee reviews at 30, 60, 90 days
- Oversee operations of the production area and directly supervise production team
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures / work instructions are in place and followed
- Enforce established policies and systems, update equipment, and follow-up on recommendations
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify potential problems
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure repairs and service happen as necessary
- Investigate repeated issues using the Corrective Action "5 Whys"*Set daily / weekly / monthly objectives and communicate them to the team*Inform team of areas for improvement
- Communicate with and assist other manufacturing departments as needed*Attend and provide input at the daily production meetings
Quality
- Use the spectrophotometer to approve custom colors and document results
- Ensure quality control standards apply to the fabrication processes
- Address quality-related issues that may arise
- Ensure all product meets SGP quality standards (half of ASTM standards)
Safety
- Follow SGP guidelines for safety
- Promote a safe work environment
- Ensure employees are following safety policies
- Provide feedback and suggestions with regard to safety improvements
Materials
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to ensure that raw materials and other supplies are available according to the schedule
Communication and Culture
- Greet team members at the start of the shift
- Resolve issues and disputes between team members
- Observe interaction between team members and promote teamwork
- Translate when needed
- Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments, shifts, and management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
