Job Summary

Essential Duties

• This position supports mill operators and utilities in evaluating and analyzing processes for optimum tonnage through the mill. Serves as the department designated trainer, works with the rock tech, supervisors and maintenance to maximize mill performance
• Lead by example by wearing required PPE at all times and demonstrating a professional demeanor at all times Initiate Safety Task Analysis (STA’s) for routine / non routine tasks Designated trainer for new hires in the mill department Competent trainer for all mill equipment and procedures Deliver hands on and classroom training for mill screen Preventative Maintenance (PM’s)Report discrepancies in mill sample results for timely resolution Identification of mechanical, electrical, and operational issues including material leaks, and work with Supervisors, Maintenance and Department Manager for timely resolution Identify opportunity work during downtime and coordinate with the Supervisor / Manager to complete essential work. (maximize productivity during downtime / idle time)Responsible for start-up, safe operation and shutdown of mill equipment, including dryer, shakers, Remco crushers, Ro tex screens, Bivi tec, etc. Runs Ro tap sieve analysis Responsible for quality of work and the safe operation of all tools/equipment under his/her control Responsible for good housekeeping and safety inspection of work area Flexible for shift coverage, e.g., mill operator call offs and/or vacations Cross trained in heavy equipment (loader and haul truck) for coverage purposes May be required to perform other duties as assigned Review daily mill shift production reports for completeness and accuracy Analyze key performance metrics
  
  

Qualifications Required

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Two or more years of mill operating experience

Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications.

Hourly Rate: 37.45
