What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Director of Nursing position at Specialty Hospice?
Specialty Hospice is looking for a competent and compassionate clinical manager with hospice experience.
The Director of Nursing will work with the Executive Director to manage clinical operations, staffing, and team leadership. The Director of Nursing will supervise all aspects of patient care, and assist with compliance in state and federal regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess excellent critical thinking and leadership skills, be able to solve problems before they become obstacles. Motivated to support the hospice agency to grow. Will be required to help with staffing, patient care, occasional on call responsibilities, provide administrative on call and after hour support, train team members, facilitate/coordinate admissions.
Qualifications:
- Have a college degree and preferably have experience in management or supervision.
- A registered nurse who is currently licensed to practice in the State of Mississippi.
- Three-years experience as a registered nurse.
- One year of full-time experience providing direct patient care in hospice, home health, or oncology setting: or
- One-year management of patient care staff in an acute care setting, hospice or home health
Skills
- Proven experience as healthcare manager or other similar position
- Experience in clinical management
- Knowledge of relevant hospice regulations and quality standards
- Proficient in MS Office, relational databases and software
- Outstanding communication and public speaking skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving and handle stressful situations
- Be able to navigate fast and changing environment
