This is a field position and the candidate must be comfortable with making home visits and willing to cover the entire service area which includes North Mississippi counties.
Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of patients and families as they journey through the advance stages of end of life. The Hospice Social Worker plays an important role of the Hospice team by assisting the patient and families in understanding significant social and emotional factors related to the patient’s health status and terminal diagnosis.
- Must demonstrate a continued commitment to Specialty Hospice’s philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organizational culture.
- Must have the ability to work closely with a variety of people while effectively using problem-solving skills.
- Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values.
- Work as a team player within the agency and with the interdisciplinary team.
- Must have and maintain reliable transportation, current driver’s license, auto insurance, and annual TB testing.
Qualifications include but not limited to:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education. This individual must be licensed in the State of Mississippi.
- A minimum of one year documented clinical experience appropriate to the counseling and casework needs of the terminally ill.
