What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Forklift Operator position at Specialty Manufacturing?
Job Brief
The Cell & Dock material handler is responsible for dock and cell operations as well as managing the employees within the cell. Efficiency and cleanliness are at the discretion of this position.
Responsibilities
Cell
- Ensure efficiency with all employees within the cell.
- Ensure all orders of packaging are filled within timely manner
- Ensure the Cell is kept clean and recyclables are emptied weekly.
- Safety is to be prioritized when loading and unloading the Cell.
Dock
- Ensure all trailers that hit the dock are turned around in timely fashion
- Coordinate with other FL operators to ensure this is done in timely manner.
- Ensure that all product is cleared from the dock by the EOD every day.
- Ensure all dock doors have yellow chains and dock locks are utilized
- Ensure all forklifts are full entering and leaving the dock
- Cleanliness (how we look is how we operate)
- Always empty area of trash
- Ensure safety on the dock is always first thought. (Forklifts honk at all turns)
- Cleanliness is maintained at all points in the day.
All other skills will be tested when attempting to get your license

- We operate many lifts for a variety of customers, the only way to service all customers in a time sensitive manner is to help other operators when needed and they will in turn help you when needed.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $15.20 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
