We currently have a career opportunity for a caring, purpose-driven Patient Support Specialist who will take great pride in creating truly extraordinary patient experiences while supporting the highest quality dental care.
The Patient Support Specialist team provides front-line support to deliver exceptional service and create resolutions along with high-level communication to patients. The goal is to ensure excellent patient service standards are met and high patient satisfaction is maintained.
In addition to front-line support, the team manages all aspects of scheduling our patient appointments, including communication regarding patients' insurance eligibility, frequency of procedures, and overdue account balances. All team members are responsible for knowing our policies and procedures for each clinic and communicating positively with all staff, patients, and their parent(s)/guardian(s).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enter all patient information correctly into a patient’s account and schedule new patient consultations and recurring appointments in appropriate time slots.
- Appropriately handle the reason for each phone call or forward to the necessary staff member while keeping accurate and consistent documentation.
- Handle emergency phone calls, decipher what is a true emergency, and schedule the appointment appropriately.
- Collect and post payments from patients over the phone.
- Collect patient insurance information over the phone.
- Communicate with other dental offices and specialists regarding referrals, existing radiographs, claim history, and any conditions of mutual patients.
Position Details:
- Monday - Friday schedule, 30-40 hours/week

Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn multiple computer systems and programs.
- Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and organized.
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to different personalities.
- Ability to answer telephone calls and communicate accurate information to callers.
- 1-year previous call center or customer service experience.
- Dental experience is a plus.
