Specified Systems, Inc. is one of the region’s most prolific erecting distributors of architectural aluminum windows, aluminum storefront and doors, low-rise aluminum curtain wall, and specialty glazings. The company covers metropolitan Pittsburgh, western PA to Erie, and what is commonly known as the “Tri-State,” which encompasses southeastern Ohio, West Virginia, and western Maryland. We work closely with architects, general contractors, and building owners to specify the right product for the required application. We do our own field engineering and sizing, generate our own shop drawings, write our own engineered orders on window projects, fabricate storefront/curtain wall/entrance doors in our Washington, PA shop, and manage our own installations.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Assembler/Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating various saws for cutting aluminum and other materials. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring that all products meet the required specifications.
Duties
- Operate saws to cut metal and other materials according to specifications.
- Perform quality inspections of finished products to ensure they meet standards.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery, including press brake machines, to assemble components as needed.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Use measuring tools to verify dimensions of cut materials.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various types of saws and machinery.
- Familiarity with aluminum fabrication processes and tooling is preferred.
- Experience with quality inspection techniques and tools, including micrometers.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Proficient in using hand tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
