Construction Laborer

Job Description:

Spectator Enterprises is accepting applications for Construction Laborers. Work will consist of physical labor and manual tasks on a construction site to prepare the job site for excavation:

• Digging: Digging trenches, holes, and other excavations
• Loading and unloading: Loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Cleaning: Cleaning the work area and removing debris
• Operating machinery: Operating heavy machinery and equipment, such as mini-excavators, backhoes, and jackhammers
• Grading: Grading and compacting earth
• Backfilling: Backfilling holes
• Assisting: Assisting other craft workers and skilled tradespeople
• Following instructions: Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans
• Maintaining safety: Maintaining all safety standards

Excavation laborers typically work outside in a variety of weather conditions. They may need to be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., push and pull up to 80 lbs., and stand. Excavation laborers usually learn through on-the-job training.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Licenses – Current drivers license
• Education – High school Graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent work experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Safety Training -OSHA 10 (will train)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Job requires working in both heat and cold.
• Able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, overtime and occasional night shifts as required.

SKILLS:

• Must use all power tools
• Capable of digging trenches, either by hand tools or power equipment.
• Operate two-handed tools such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers.
• Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions.
• Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints, and written instructions.
• Operate and work from personal lifts, gas or electric powered.
• Operate equipment, trenchers, backhoes, lift trucks in a safe manner.

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
• Lift 50 pounds.
• Climb ladders of all types.
• Complete overhead work for full day’s assignments.

Pay is based off of experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
