Warehouse Laborer

Job Overview:
Spectra Composites of South Carolina is seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Laborer to join our team in Jamestown, South Carolina. As a leading provider in the composites industry, we specialize in sales and distribution of high-quality fiberglass and composite products. The ideal candidate will assist in various warehouse operations, including the handling, storage, and shipment of materials such as fiberglass, resins, and composite products. A key responsibility will be fiberglass slitting, where you will measure, cut, and prepare fiberglass materials according to company specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fiberglass Slitting:
• Operate fiberglass slitting machines to cut fiberglass materials into specified widths and lengths for production or shipment.
• Ensure proper machine setup and adjustments to maintain precise cutting dimensions.
• Inspect fiberglass materials for defects or quality issues before and after slitting.
• Safely handle and prepare fiberglass rolls or sheets for further processing or distribution.
• Material Handling and Storage:
• Safely load, unload, and organize materials such as fiberglass, resins, and composite products.
• Maintain an organized and clean warehouse, ensuring materials are stored in appropriate areas to avoid damage or contamination.
• Assist with inventory control by tracking materials and ensuring stock levels are accurate.
• Order Preparation and Shipment:
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications and deadlines.
• Assist in loading trucks for delivery while ensuring that materials are securely packaged and transported.
• Verify shipment contents and maintain accurate shipping records.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on warehouse equipment, including slitting machines, forklifts, and hand tools.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when handling fiberglass and other materials.
• Adhere to workplace safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Assist in ensuring that warehouse operations comply with health and safety regulations.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to meet daily production and shipping goals.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, preferably in a composites or fiberglass-related industry.
• Experience with fiberglass slitting machines and other warehouse equipment is a plus.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Forklift certification is a plus (company will provide training if necessary).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Comfortably handle materials such as fiberglass rolls and sheets.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may be dusty or noisy.
