Position Overview
The Electro Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on DFM, DFA and with test engineering expertise will play a vital role in building new assembly lines, improving manufacturing processes and quality assurance throughout the process. This role involves developing electrical manufacturing standards, creating robust test protocols, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments to optimize electrical systems, support new product development, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide technical support with an emphasis on electronic systems to enhance manufacturing processes and ensure product quality.
- Develop and document processes to improve labor efficiency, quality, reduce work-in-process, scrap, and overall manufacturing costs.
- Establish and maintain electronic testing procedures and quality controls, including automated and manual testing.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles to drive improvements in key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost - SQDC).
- Analyze test results to identify electrical issues, troubleshoot failures, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical test strategies into new and existing product designs.
- Implement changes in processes using insights from manufacturing data, lean methodologies, and electronic test results.
- Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) evaluations on new products focusing on electronic performance aspects.
- Define and oversee the maintenance schedule for electronic machines and equipment.
- Generate and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for electronic testing and manufacturing processes.
- Perform cost justifications for new equipment and electronic tooling acquisitions.
- Evaluate and disposition non-conforming materials as per Quality Procedures, with a focus on electronic components.
- Train team members on quality standards, electronic test protocols, and manufacturing techniques.
- Monitor compliance of manufacturing processes to approved electronic methods and quality standards.
