General Job functions include
learning programmatic responsibilities from incumbent staff such that they can be multi-disciplined and support different program elements as needed with potential for growing into leadership position(s);
solve problems independently;
Interacting with DOE, NRC, and cross-functional teams to ensure unified compliance efforts and address regulatory changes promptly.
Serve as a resource for internal departments by providing training, consulting on security best practices, and responding to security-related inquiries.
Contribute to incident response planning and execution, supporting a comprehensive approach to risk mitigation and facility protection.
Security Analyst duties include :
transmission of classified information, ensuring compliance with DOE / NRC regulations.
Control access to the facility, verifying credentials and authorizing secure entry for personnel, contractors, and visitors.
Develop and update security procedures, coordinating with the Facility Security Officer (FSO) on daily security operations and regulatory compliance.
Conduct regular self-assessments and internal audits to identify security gaps, recommend improvements, and prepare for formal inspections.
Maintenance Lead duties include :
Performing preventative maintenance on critical systems, including HVAC, security sensors, and the Perimeter Intrusion Detection Assessment System (PIDAS), to maintain optimal operational status.
Manage physical security by overseeing the issuance, duplication, and maintenance of facility keys and locks, ensuring controlled access to secure areas.
Coordinate with vendors for parts procurement and inventory management, enabling timely repair and replacement of equipment to avoid disruptions. System Administration duties include :
Leading minor / major system upgrades, managing the planning, coordination, and implementation of software and infrastructure enhancements to ensure minimal downtime.
Conducting routine vulnerability assessments and applying mitigations to secure network systems, aligning with federal compliance and security standards.
Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in hardware, software, and network configurations to maximize system performance and reliability.
Maintain and update logs for network activities, maintenance, and repairs to support audits and security assessments.
Develop and enforce network security protocols, including access control measures, encryption, and firewalls, to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access.
Maintain Windows and Linux-based systems, overseeing security updates and configurations in line with DOE / NRC security standards.
