Spectra Tech has an immediate need for an Advanced Work Packaging Professional in Aiken, SC.
Spectra Tech is seeking an experienced Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) Professional to join our team in Aiken, SC. This role involves breaking down large-scale construction projects into smaller, discipline-specific, manageable work packages for field crews. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting and implementing AWP objectives, training personnel, and coordinating cross-departmental activities to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- AWP Program Management:
- Promote and implement Advanced Work Packaging objectives and procedures.
- Train personnel on company policies and project-specific requirements.
- Support recruitment, development, and retention of AWP staff.
- Planning and Coordination:
- Assist managers in sequencing project execution.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and other departments to streamline information sharing.
- Align Construction Work Packages with Engineering deliverables.
- Package Development and Oversight:
- Create and audit Installation Work Packages (IWPs) to meet project requirements.
- Coordinate work package creation in alignment with project schedules and Path of Construction.
- Ensure data accuracy and availability for work packages.
- Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
- Facilitate transparent reporting through status updates and logs.
- Conduct scoping sessions, constraint removal meetings, and closeout reviews.
- Work closely with Area Construction Management and other site teams to ensure compliance with AWP policies.
- Process Improvement:
- Develop project-specific AWP manuals and guidelines.
- Assist in refining AWP practices for consistency, accessibility, and quality improvement.
- Support the Construction team in incorporating AWP into the Construction Execution Plan.
Basic Job Requirements:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 10 years of work-related experience, OR 14 years of combined education and experience without a degree.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills for engaging with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and contractors.
- Proficiency in relevant technical knowledge and adherence to local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
Discipline-Specific Requirements:
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Create and execute global AWP strategies and implementation plans.
- Ensure proposals include adequate resources and AWP considerations during all project phases (Pre-FEED, FEED, Engineering, Construction).
- Provide input on constructability and improve practices for construction-driven execution.
- Review and approve Quality Requirements Systems within project scopes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multilingual proficiency.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- In-depth knowledge of construction operations and support functions.
- Adaptability to changing conditions and environments.
- Advanced proficiency in software tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
