OverviewThe position will be to research and write numerous grant proposals to federal and state agencies in support of a Native American Pueblo located in New Mexico Specific experience writing proposals to the following agencies is a plus :
Department of EnergyBureau of ReclamationBureau of Indian AffairsState of New MexicoJob Description
Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization.Research grant opportunities from federal and state government and non-government agencies.Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.Submit proposals to grant coordinators for approval.Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a writing-intensive field (e.g., English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communication)Advanced certification or vocational diploma in grant writing is a plusAt least two years of experience as a grant writer for a nonprofit organizationApplicant should have a working knowledge of Grants.gov and / or Grant Solutions.govExcellent research, writing, and communication skills
