Job Description
Summary
This position performs work requiring advanced knowledge which is predominantly intellectual in character, and which routinely exercises discretion and judgment. The advanced knowledge is in a field of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction, experience, and expertise acquired in the field. In addition to 3D modeling or CAD.
Scope
This position provides projects with technical expertise in one or several areas of discipline. Leads
discipline engineering specialists in providing technical assistance to construction management.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute the construction engineering specialist program, which includes the exchange of
engineering information among the client, design engineer, and company project
Perform technical administration of contractsMaintain working knowledge of applicable codes and standards for a projectProvide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers,superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities
Prepare material take-offs as well as initiate and prepare requisitions for the procurement ofservices, materials, and equipment necessary to support the project schedule
Coordinate the completion of construction activities in assigned systems and prepare punch liststo ensure the readiness of systems for release for turnover to the client or for start up
Maintain liaison with the design engineer to schedule and coordinate the release ofconstruction design documents in support of the construction schedule
Provide marked-up drawings and information required for the preparation of as-built drawingsInterpret the intent and requirements of the design documents; ensure design drawings arereviewed for completeness and constructability; and ensure drawings are marked-up and
information provided as required for the preparation of as-built drawings
Coordinate, obtain, and provide responses to Requests for Information (RFI) as requiredCoordinate engineering input and analysis on project progress, compliance, and close-outreports
Provide the technical and construction engineering expertise required to support the projectProvide technical evaluation of bid proposalsParticipate in pre-construction planning efforts and development phases of projects, including the coordination and implementation of the constructability review programAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varyingcomplexity in accordance with organization and / or project objectives and guidelines
Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timelymanner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staffMaintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standardsEffectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the jobMay need to travel to attend to business related mattersTypical Minimum Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and fourteen14) years
of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly relatedexperience equal to eighteen (18) years
if non-degreed; some locations may have additional ordifferent qualifications in order to comply with local regulations
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited tomanagement, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state / province, and federal / nationalstatutes and guidelines
