Primary Job function

This position provides specialized technical support services by performing any combination of complex or non-routine duties involving the selection and use of procedures and/or equipment in support of medical diagnostic instrument and/or reagent development and production.


The individuals in this role will be responsible for performing maintenance, repair and upgrades on a high throughput blood analyzer in a cGMP/GLP environment. Work will involve long periods of time standing and working reaching into a complex densely configured analyzer.

Top 5 skills/requirements:

  • Mechanical/Fluidic/Electrical/Software Troubleshooting, History with reading through electronic instrument logs
  • Experience with work and documentation within a cGLP/Quality/Regulated environment
  • Experience with reading electrical/mechanical/fluidic diagrams and drawings, and Solid Interest/Technical skills within the scope of our projects (e.g. soldering, fluidics, machining, mechanical aptitude, software, etc.).
  • Working within a Bio Med environment a plus skillset previous person have that complimented the role.
  • Current team members have a range of backgrounds with strong experience troubleshooting complex integrated systems. It is extremely beneficial to have good experiential recall, keen attention to detail and good team interpersonal skills.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Applies a high level of technical support in a specialized discipline using knowledge and theory of electronics; life science; chemistry; mechanics; software; etc.
  • Understands and uses knowledge of other disciplines. Uses computer applications as needed for functional specialty.
  • Advanced skills in computer hardware and /or software applications. Accepts non-routine and complex assignments.
  • Follows established procedures, uses judgment and makes choices on how to proceed. Assignments often require creativity.
  • Research; recommends; and implements appropriate changes for process improvements.
  • Uses information from within and/or outside the organization when necessary.
  • Reads; understands and instructs others in the use of manuals; test procedures; and documentation associated with specialized equipment.
  • Reads; interprets; and may create engineering drawings; schematics, and complex test procedures. Writes basic procedures and technical documents.
  • Working knowledge and use of complex tools and equipment specific to functional areas.
  • May use statistical; mathematical and other quantitative and qualitative methods and measurements.
  • May create tools and fixtures specific to functional area. May work closely with engineers to execute product design.
  • Constructs complex engineering prototypes; models and builds special test equipment. May perform testing on prototype electrical and/or mechanical designs.
  • Conducts complex testing, analysis and troubleshooting. Conducts testing to determine effectiveness of product specifications.
  • Complies to all safety standards and regulatory requirements.

    • Verifies experimental data for usefulness and accuracy. Impact on Operations/Effect of Errors: Tasks; activities and/or information used to make decisions which are in direct support of the department's primary function.
    • Effect of errors may have significant impact in terms of time or money.
  • Minimum Education:

    • High school or equivalency is required. Associates degree; or equivalent experience; is required.
    • Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Work requires the theoretical and conceptual knowledge associated with an Associate’s degree.
  • Minimum Experience/Training Required

    • This position requires five or more years related technical experience.
    • Training includes on the job training. Degree of physical effort and environment: Normal work fatigue. Normally safe environment.
    • Typical electronic manufacturing/laboratory/office environment.
    • Some work subject to frequent hand/eye coordination, lifting/carrying of objects or operating equipment.
    • Work may be subject to moderately unpleasant conditions. (Applies to biohazard only.)
    • Interview preferences: anticipate interviews with up to 3 people representing each of these three areas: Management, Technical and Team. Initial interview will be phone screen, second/third interview will be onsite/video.

    Salary : $30 - $32
