Job Title: Telecommunications Technician/ Network Analyst (Telecom)

Job description
- This position will be responsible for monitoring and creating plans for building, splicing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic cables on the client's network in VA.
- The position will work independently and as part of a team to ensure our fiber optic network is reliable, efficient, and meets enterprise needs.
Primary job duties include, but not limited to:
- Working in and around fiber and radio huts, generation plants, substations, data centers, crew quarters and right of ways.
- Creating plans for splicing and testing OPGW and ADSS fiber optic cables.
- Performing support duties in fiber cable maintenance, relocation and emergency restoration.
- Building relationships with all business units within the client.
- Documenting fiber strand usage and updating cable records in Circuit Vision.
- Reviewing and analyzing optical system route redundancy.
- Participating in maintenance window cutovers and system grooms.
- Support storm recovery duties during disasters.
- Work with the Transport Team to turn up telecommunication services.
- Work closely with all fiber splicers and provide updates on progress
- All other duties as needed.
What are the top (at least 3 if possible) “must have” skill sets (technical/functional) which are required
- Telecom OSP engineering experience in fiber.
- Geospatial experience.
- Circuit Vision.
What education and certifications/licensures are required?
- High school diploma minimum.
