Job Title: UX Researcher IV
Duration: 6 months (Possible Extension)
Location: Remote ( Seattle Preferred)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced UX Researcher to join our team, supporting the execution of research studies for Oculus Studios VR/MR games. As a UX Researcher on our team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with researchers, designers, PMs, and engineers to identify, define, and deliver meaningful products into the world.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute research roadmaps Lead various research studies throughout all phases of the product development cycle
Contribute to product strategy, execution, and go-to-market plan
Manage research vendors to augment the work of the research team.
Must-Have Skills:
1. Qualitative Research Experience: 8 years of experience moderating user research sessions, analyzing qualitative data, and turning it into actionable insights.
2. Full-Service Research Execution: Proven ability to handle all aspects of research execution, including planning, participant recruitment, moderation, data analysis, writing reports, and presenting insights to stakeholders.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, such as product teams, designers, and developers.
4. Requires experience in the gaming industry, preferably in game testing or quality assurance.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
1. Video Game User Research Experience: Direct experience conducting user research for video games, including understanding player behavior, preferences, and pain points.
2. VR User Research Experience: Familiarity with conducting user research in virtual reality environments, including designing studies, recruiting participants, and analyzing data.
3. Quantitative Data Analysis: Education and experience with survey writing, analysis, and interpreting quantitative data to inform design decisions.
Minimum Years of Experience: 8
Degrees/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Research or related field
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
These responsibilities will be performed primarily remotely, with occasional use of onsite UX labs in Seattle. The researcher is expected to complete 1-2 research studies per month, supporting the development of VR/MR games launching in late 2026.
Requirements:
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Experience with data and utilizing numbers to define and support hypotheses
Experience with storytelling to get traction with various audiences
Ability to use a VR headset for work
Located in the Seattle area, with ability to utilize onsite UX labs on occasion (most work can be performed remotely)
Screening Process:
1-2 rounds of interviews, each lasting approximately 1 hour
