What are we looking for
SpectraMedix is seeking a Senior Healthcare Business Analyst/Data Owner to drive business requirements gathering, data governance, and support value-based care initiatives for healthcare clients. This role focuses on collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data needs, ensuring data accuracy and consistency within the MDM framework, and translating business requirements into actionable data solutions. The position plays a pivotal role in bridging business and technical teams, delivering data-driven insights, and ensuring data assets align with organizational goals to support improved decision-making in value-based care.
Role: Sr Healthcare Business Analyst/Data Owner
Location: East Windsor, New Jersey
Roles & Responsibilities
- Own and manage the lifecycle of critical healthcare data assets, ensuring data quality, consistency, and alignment with business objectives.
- Define and enforce data standards, definitions, and data quality rules across key datasets (clinical, claims, provider, member, etc.).
- Manage and maintain various healthcare taxonomy related code sets under MDM practice.
- Work closely with internal business teams, product managers, and client-facing teams to understand business needs and translate them into data requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise on value-based care metrics (e.g., HEDIS, Stars, ACO quality measures, cost/utilization metrics, risk adjustment, etc.).
- Develop comprehensive data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, business glossaries, and documentation to ensure clear understanding of data assets across teams.
- Analyze healthcare data using quality measures, HCPCS, ICD, CPT codes, DRG, and other standards.
- Review payer-provider contracts, including reimbursement and value-based care models, to support decision-making.
- Present analysis, findings, insights in relevant internal and external forums.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any science related discipline
- 8 - 10 years of experience within the healthcare data analytics industry
- Proficiency in basic SQL is a must.
- Familiarity in defining data governance processes, business glossaries, and data standards.
- Excellent skills in requirements gathering, business process mapping, and documentation.
- Exposure to US healthcare, familiarity with data assets in the population health an managed care space (HEDIS / HCPCS / CPT / FHIR / HL7 data).
- Experience developing statistical models using Python or relevant technologies will be preferred
- Familiarity with the US healthcare system, population health management, managed care and Payer data (e.g., FHIR, HL7, risk adjustment, etc.).
Required Skill Set (Good to Have):
- Exposure/proficiency in Python is an advantage
- Exposure in managing Tableau server is an advantage
Non-Technical / Behavioral competencies required
- Strong verbal and written communication, technical articulation, listening, and presentation skills are essential
- Should have proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated expertise in prioritization, time management, and stakeholder management (both internal and external) is necessary
- Should be a quick learner, self-starter, proactive, and an effective team player
- Must have experience working under tight deadlines within a matrix organizational structure
