Job Description

Currently, Spectrix Analytical Services, LLC, Equal Opportunity Employer, is searching for an molecular biologist. The successful candidate will assist in the generation of CRISPR engineered cell lines. This will involve the introduction of CRISPR reagents into cells by electroporation, the development of PCR assays to generate amplicons that will be sequenced by NGS to assess the degree of editing, single cell cloning for the transfected pool of cells, the maintenance and expansion of the resulting clones, and PCR amplicon analysis of the clones. Experience with the preparation of next generation sequencing libraries and performing Illumina MiSeq sequencers would be considered a plus.

Education/Experience:

· A BS/MS in Molecular Biology or related field and 2-5 years industrial experience
· Highly proficient in mammalian cell culture, including with Incucyte live cell analysis are preferred.
· Nucleic acid delivery to mammalian cells via electroporation
· A strong background and experience with modern molecular biology techniques:

• PCR assay design from human genomic DNA sequences
• Instrument-based methods like Agilent fragment analyzers for evaluating PCR optimization.
• Experience of Lonza 4D nucleofection

· Ability to multiplex tasks and projects and work in a high throughput environment

· Proficient with Microsoft Office,

· Familiar with publicly available genomic datasets such as NCBI and UCSC genome browser

· Excellent notebook and verbal communications skills

· Knowledge of next generation sequencing and DNA sequence analysis considered a plus.
