What Will You Be Doing?
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring that Spectro Alloys products meet and exceed quality standards. From managing lab testing to maintaining documentation, you’ll be at the heart of our quality assurance processes. Working closely with our Production and Metallurgical teams, you’ll help improve manufacturing processes and maintain critical certifications.
Here’s what you’ll be doing day-to-day:
- Assist with maintaining the quality assurance system to ensure continuous production of products meeting quality standards
- Support Production and Metallurgical teams with test results, process records, and quality improvement
- Write, maintain, and control Measurement Assurance manuals and testing procedures
- Train others on test equipment and lab procedures
- Maintain documentation for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications
- Operate lab equipment such as spectrometers, optical microscopes, and CNC machines
- Prepare samples, conduct tests, and report results to support Casthouse operations
- Ensure safety, traceability, and quality standards are met across all lab processes
- Maintain a clean and organized lab environment
Who We Are Looking For:
- A detail-oriented, hands-on team player with a passion for quality assurance and manufacturing
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the team
- Experience or willingness to operate lab equipment (spectrometers, microscopes, CNC machines)
- Ability to safely operate small machine tools, fork trucks, and other equipment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS in an Engineering Discipline (preferred)
- Experience with test labs, mechanical aptitude, and computer skills
- Prior experience with Spectrometers or Optical Microscopes (preferred)

Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old
Education & Experience:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: BS in an Engineering Discipline or relevant experience in a quality testing lab
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to operate lab equipment and small machine tools
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality processes is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to work in an industrial environment, including exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery
- Comfort with lifting up to 50 lbs and handling heavy equipment and samples
Certifications & Training (Preferred but not required):
- Experience with CNC machines, spectrometers, and optical microscopes
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
Background & Screening:
- Must be able to pass a background check, physical exam, and drug screen (safety first!)
