Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer

Looking for Entry-Level ME Assistant!

Under immediate supervision, the ME Assistant performs entry-level mechanical engineering work and assists with the migration of old design prints into virtual folders. Average week will consist of 75% migration of old prints to virtual and 25% will be assisting with basic mechanical engineering tasks.

Hourly - $15.00 - $18.00, Open for discussion based on experience

Open to: Full-Time, Part-Time, or High School/College Co-Op

Essential Functions

• Assist with the scanning of old design documents and categorizing them into virtual folders.
• Assist other Mechanical Engineers with their designs and learn from their instruction.
• Construct and modify 3D/2D models per customer standards using one or more of the following systems: AutoCAD, and SolidWorks
• Review and study customer specifications, engineering schematics and other data to determine the design procedures needed to generate and release digital and/or hardcopy printouts related to the engineering and manufacturing requirements.
• Other functions may be directed by Management.
  
  

Skills/Abilities

• Experience with MS Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Experience troubleshooting problems, finding solutions, and implementing those solutions.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task effectively
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently
  
  

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma required
• Relevant class experience within Mechanical Engineering required
• Relevant industry experience within design a plus!
• Experience with SolidWorks
• Experience with CAD Systems and software including CADRA, Space Claim and AutoCAD a plus!
• Experience with specialty parts feeding and material handling systems a plus!
  
  

Working Conditions

• May be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, and occasionally chemical fumes.
• The noise level within the manufacturing floor may be faint to moderate, and occasionally loud.
• Eyewear is mandatory while in the manufacturing area.
• Safety shoes such as steel-toed shoes are to be worn in the manufacturing area.
• Must be able to work overtime when required as job permits.
  
  

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time if necessary.
• Typically sits for extended periods of time at a computer.
• Must be able to bend, and lift objects up to 35 pounds if required.
