Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is a leading provider of alternative and special education programs for children and young adults. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Specialist for Students with Disabilities to join our team.
About the Role
As an Educational Specialist for Students with Disabilities, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and implementing instructional processes for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Your primary focus will be on creating a collaborative environment that promotes academic achievement and personal growth for students with diverse needs.
You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to develop and implement effective education plans tailored to the unique needs of each student. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and implement instructional processes for students with IEPs
- Create a collaborative learning environment that promotes social development and group responsibility
- Implement established school-wide and classroom Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs
- Record student progress, maintain student files, and prepare reports on students and activities
- Provide direct subject-based instruction and/or co-teach curricular subjects as required in IEPs
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field
- All state teaching certification and/or licensing requirements
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an education specialist or special education teaching credential (Mild/Mod or Mod/Severe)
- Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction in a classroom setting
