Production Scheduler

SUMMARY

The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating an efficient schedule designed to streamline production and to meet customer demand. Support the value stream and work closely with all other functions to ensure objectives are met. All tasks must be completed in accordance with cGMP and GDP requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, QC lab, QA, and supply base to gather inputs and adjust schedules as needed
  • Examine and resolve issues or concerns occurring during production and take corrective action with appropriate departments or personnel
  • Attend Daily Huddles to review schedules, address bottlenecks, and communicate any changes
  • Communicate to expeditors, sales, or other internal customers on status of work order
  • Adhere to SOP and GDP guidance for all work orders created
  • Recommend and adjust planning parameters to improve planning and scheduling system processes that include lot sizes, lead times, and daily capacity.
  • Inform Supply Base of any discrepancies to ensure accurate demand is met and on-time delivery is achieved.
  • Identify areas of improvement to further streamline the planning and scheduling process to help boost business performance.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-4 years work experience in a production scheduling capacity
  • Working knowledge of cGMP and FDA regulations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment
  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Ability to work independently and manage ones time
  • Communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment
  • Lean Manufacturing or Project Management Certifications preferred but not required.
