What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Spectrum Community Services, Inc?
WORK FULL TIME - 3 1/2 DAYS PER WEEK AND HAVE 3 1/2 DAYS OFF EACH WEEK!
4 different shifts of three days of 12 hours (and 6 hrs. on Wednesdays) available:
Shift 1: Sunday - Tuesday 8am-8pm & Wednesday 8am-2pm
Shift 2: Wednesday 2pm - 8pm & Thursday- Saturday 8am-8pm
Shift 3: Sunday - Tuesday 8pm - 8am & Wednesday 8pm-2am
Shift 4: Wednesday 2am - 8am & Thursday- Saturday 8pm-8am
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in the development and implementation of individual service plan
- Oversees and assists the residents in the completion of their homework and studies, household chores, house maintenance, etc.
- Reports observations of resident involvement in the daily record.
- Conducts fire drills at least monthly according to regulations and agency policies and procedures.
- Maintains residence, vehicle, and equipment in a safe, functional, and secure manner conducive to the residents’ physical well-being.
- Assists the residents in the expression and fulfillment of their needs within the guidelines established in the facility policies to provide growth and self-sufficiency.
- Provides crisis intervention strategies as prescribed in the policies and procedures for treatment/support, as necessary.
- Responds in accordance with policies and procedures for handling emergency situations.
- Participates as a team member in supervisor, staff, and team meetings.
- Supports and follows all policies and procedures, as well as complying with all applicable state regulations.
- Supervises and/or administers the taking of medications in accordance with policies and procedures governing medication administration.
