Spectrum Environmental, Inc. is an established environmental consulting firm spanning more than 30 years in business with offices in Mobile, Alabama; Birmingham, Alabama; and Nashville, Tennessee. We are seeking a motivated individual who desires to learn, grow, and develop alongside a multi-faceted team of environmental professionals. The successful candidate should be a great communicator in all aspects and possess characteristics of a servant leader. Though we expect the chosen candidate to further define, develop, and lead in their role, we provide the following as a framework of what will be expected of this individual:
Leadership – You will be asked to demonstrate leadership in all tasks and projects assigned. This will include emphasizing and promoting Spectrum’s Vision (Serving businesses and individuals to build a stronger future for all) and maintaining a safe work environment.
Promote Quality Standards – You will be asked to conduct daily activities in a manner that exemplifies Spectrum’s quality of work product standards. This task will also include promoting Spectrum’s overall company mission (To collectively offer innovative solutions to promote business, steward our environment, and enrich lives).
H.I.R.E.S. – It is expected that your efforts will continue to promote Spectrum’s Mission by demonstrating and implementing Spectrum’s Core Principles (H.I.R.E.S.).

- Working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental sciences or related field of study.
- Ability to perform various invasive species management related tasks such as manual invasive removal, data collection, etc.
- Has completed applicable coursework in related fields of knowledge, including but not limited to soil science, botany, dendrology, watershed science, stream geomorphology, wetland science, etc.
- Ability to understand and conduct field techniques related to WOTUS delineating, Threatened and Endangered (T&E) Species Habitat Assessments, mapping, and reporting.
- Ability to spend full working day outside with consistent movement and exposure to the elements.
- Ability to work in both individual and team dynamics to accomplish daily tasks.
- Exhibits a willingness and desire to learn.
