Summary of Position :
Spectrum Industrial Services, Inc., an established firm spanning more than 30 years in business and with offices in Mobile, and Birmingham, Alabama; is seeking an experienced Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner. Their duties include hiring Field Technicians to perform specific tasks, monitoring budgeting expenses for Workers, supplies or tools and reviewing laws and regulations to maintain a safe work environment. The successful candidate should be a great communicator and be well respected in the industry. Though we expect the chosen candidate to further define, develop, and lead in their role, we provide the following as a framework of what will be expected of this individual.
Qualifications and Responsibilities :
- Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel
- Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
- Recruiting, hiring, training, managing and mentoring employees and contractors
- Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs
- Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets and procedures
- Developing and managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites
- Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
- Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers and other officials
- A driven personality that looks to have a long-lasting impact on the individuals with whom they interact and who seeks to build a strong future within the Spectrum Organization; and
- Be willing to take on other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
