Job Overview

The Operations Manager runs the day-to-day operations of the warehouse primarily for Shipping/Receiving/Short Order. The Manager ensures that orders are accurately and efficiently selected. This position manages a team of Managers and Supervisors. Oversees multiple shifts in a safe, efficient and effective manner and handles any immediate problems that may arise.

Essential Job Functions:

· Organizes the workflow of the departments on each respective shift

· Ensures the most efficient and productive methods of achieving shipping standards

· Assigns and monitors assignments through management team

· Endorses a strong safety awareness and training culture

· Handles product discrepancies/shortages/other problems through team

· Troubleshoots and problem solves critical matters timely

Additional Job Functions:

· Participates in operations meetings.

· Reviews the performance of subordinates

· Liaisons with different departments, i.e. Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing, Sales, Maintenance, Dispatch, Transportation

· Assists with planning and implementing of processing plant improvements and expansions.

· Additional duties as required to support the mission of Keany Produce Company

Working Conditions/Job Environment:

· Degree of physical demands (strength) usually associated with this position:

· Minimum lift requirement 50-60 lbs. on a regular basis

· Requires repeated stooping and bending

· Frequent lifting and carrying of boxed/bagged fruits and vegetables

· Requires continuous standing for extended periods of time

· Frequently requires riding a motorized, stand-on pallet jack

· Environmental conditions (physical surroundings and hazards) usually associated with this position:

· Working in a 45-degree (F) processing area for 8-10 hours on a daily basis

· Working in a damp environment 8-10 hours on a daily basis

· Moderately noisy environment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Food Science, Agriculture

• 5 years’ experience in the shipping and warehousing of wholesale produce

• 5 years of management

• Spanish language skills a plus

• Safety / OSHA

• HACCP, GMP’s, sanitation, and Food Safety concepts.

• USDA/FDA guidelines

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficient operating stand-up, reach forklifts.

• PC skills to include Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel

• Flexible with change in the work assignments and priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 Years’ experience in the management of produce warehousing and shipping with multiple shifts.

• Change Management, SQF Program, Produce Pro Software:

• Very strong verbal and written communication skills in multiple languages – English, Spanish, Vietnamese or various African dialects

• Ability to take an idea from conception to execution

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
