What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Coordinator position at Spectrum Health Systems?
Location: Peer Recovery Center (The Recovery Connection) Marlborough, MA
Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours per week. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 4:30pm-8:30pm and Saturday 8:30am-5:00pm
Pay rate: $17.00-$18.00/hour

The Peer Coordinator is responsible for:
- Recruiting volunteers for the Recovery Center and provides pre-service orientation and training to peer volunteers.
- Working closely with peer volunteers to plan, implement and evaluate program activities.
- Overseeing work performed by peer volunteers.
- Helping facilitate volunteer committees.
- Providing recovery coaching to participants.
- Performing case management activities regarding initial housing, job search, medical services, insurance, social services, education, etc.
- Coordinating continuing recovery referrals including scheduling of initial appointments.
- Demonstrating cultural competency in working with participants, employees, referral agencies and others from diverse ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds.
- Maintaining and preparing reports as directed.
- Assisting with crisis management and other emergencies as needed.
Qualifications:
- One year of experience in substance addiction program preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
- Must have excellent verbal, social, and writing skills.
- Must display the use of appropriate independent judgement to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
- Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting.
- Weekends and night shift may be required.
